On getting knocked up

Based on my observations this week I think getting knocked up is all the rage. It is everywhere this year. Everywhere. I don't know how real this number is, but "rumor has it" that there are 176 pregnant girls at the school this year. There are 1900 students. I don't think half of them are female, but we'll assume they are.

Which puts the pregnancy rate this year at 17% so far. 17%.

Unfortunately that percentage seems to be about right compared what I have heard in past years, only I hear 1 in 5 of our girls had children. If that many girls are pregnant this year, then the percentage is probably on the rise.

Depressing. :(

Yeah, that didn't count the girls that already have kids, including the ones that had them before they every got to us.

The national average by the way is 10% +/- 2%.

Meaning that odds are 80% that if you're a girl, you'll get pregnant before graduation/age 18. At Lee.

Greg, you are a mathematical genius. Unfortunately you didn't factor in that some of them have two children before they are 18 and some of them are at Lee till they are 21. Then again I didn't factor in the kids that had kids in middle school.
