No wonder the pitchers are in a tiff -- they lose even when they pitch well.
How often have we gotten a new bat, only to have him under-perform? When will the 'Stros get another batting coach?
I love my boys, but I'm hating the shameful way they're losing.
Bring back JR Richard!
Houston has always been a pitcher's park, so batters will always do a little worse there - which is an indication of how good Biggio and Bagwell really have been. In Colorado they would have the stats of demigods.
Several other NL parks favor pitchers: San Diego, the Dodgers, Shea Stadium. Always shade the batting stats up mentally for players from there and shade the pitching stats down.
I'm all for anything that gives Biggio more credit for being fantastic; but I don't think the juice box is as much of a pitcher's park as the Astrodome was.
Trivia question (no lookin' it up)? Who had his debut in 1961 as Ted Williams replacement?
Might be Yaz
Yup. So when are you coming to Houston to play trivia?
I am a mixed blessing in trivia, but generally positive.
